  • Brag. Let your story speak for itself.
  • Offend or embarrass the reader. He or she may not share your views on different issues
  • Rehash the rest of your application.
  • Tell them what you think they want to hear.
  • Write a laundry list of accomplishments.
  • Overuse adjectives or adverbs.
  • Recycle a paper you wrote for school.
